Rooster's Ready To Re-Open Monday And Move Forward

Rooster’s Blues House on the Oxford Square was temporary closed due to alleged violations of Local Option Law from ABC on February 15. On Monday, 28 days later, they are set to reopen. After an outpouring of support, owner Scott Michael is ready to open his doors once more.
“We have gotten a lot of support from locals, out of towners to people who have visited us from all over the country… musicians, other venues around town have supported us,” Michael said. “I truly appreciate all the customers, fans and support from so many different places, and we are super excited about re-opening on Monday.”
With clear skies and a high of 68 degrees on Monday, Michael will have live music for the afternoon, 25-cent wings and beer specials to welcome customers back to the bar that was missed by many over the past month.
Michael and his staff used the time the establishment was closed to work on fixing some things around the place. With a fresh coat of paint among many other improvements, Rooster’s Blues House will have a refreshing look upon reopening.
“We’ve done cosmetic work we’ve been wanting to do for a while. We’ve done a lot of painting, staining the floors, general maintenance on refrigeration and repairs,” Michael said.
After a lengthy legal process, Michael is ready to open the doors and let the good times roll once again.
“We are glad that the settlement agreement is now behind us, and we’re really looking forward to moving forward,” Michael said. “I think it’s really going to be a great spring, and it’ll roll right into summertime.”
Rooster’s has been open since 2008, and they are looking forward to serving the Oxford community for many years to come.

Haha I use to work there. The place needs more than a few repairs… it needs a new owner! Also, it was not “alleged” violations.. you journalists know this. It was actual real violations, underage girl passed out in bathroom, never once paying taxes on employees or EVER paying them. None of us ever once got a check. I wonder if printing “alleged violations” is fair to ABC officers who do their job diligently.
