Oxford Police Make Several Arrests Over The Weekend
Oxford police responded to the following calls: trespassing, 14 alarms, four welfare concern, four malicious mischief, five disturbing the peace, credit card fraud, civil matter, three improper parking, code violation, 11 suspicious activity, two petit larceny, two recovered property, three animal complaints, fire department assist, report of stolen motorcycle, 911 hang-up, three suspicious person, motorist assist, domestic disturbance, elderly assist, simple assault, reported DUI, two harassing phone call.
Oxford police investigated 13 wrecks, issued 61 traffic citations and made arrests on the following charges:

No Proof of Liability Insurance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Suspended Driving License (Implied Consent Law)
DUI
3 Public Drunk

Possession of Marijuana in a Motor Vehicle and Public Drunk
Speeding, No Proof of Liability Insurance, Suspended Driving License and Failure to Yield an Emergency Vehicle

False Reporting of a Crime and Leaving the Scene of an Accident – Property Damage
No Driving License and Warrant Served
Shoplifting
Improper Equipment (one head light), Suspended Driving License and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Lafayette Sheriff’s Department responded to the following incidents: three accidents, simple assault, nine alarms, five animal complaints, six disturbances, 25 service calls, five suspicious activities, welfare concern, civil matter, checkpoint arrest, four traffic complaints, follow up, house fire, traffic stop arrest.

Oxford Fire Department:

Shower steam activated a smoke detector at 140 Oxford Creek Drive.
University Police: suspicious person, suspicious vehicle, parking lot check, public drunk, disturbance, fight, 6 vehicle stops, four reports of larceny, motor vehicle accident, traffic detail, possession of drug paraphernalia, intoxicated person, simple assault, bicycles larceny, sexual battery, failure to signal.
