JCG And Oxford Grillehouse Open Front Doors For First Time Since Accident, Construction Continues

While construction continues in front of JC Graphics and Oxford Grillehouse after a man crashed his truck into the front of the building, the front doors of the businesses have opened for the first time since the accident.
JC Graphics had been operating out of the back door for the past week, but after being closed for a week following the incident, manager Mary-Kathryn Herrington is just happy that the construction is progressing.
“It hasn’t been the most ideal situation, but you have to make it work,” manager Mary-Kathryn Herrington said. “It’s been a little bit of a mess, but we’re glad to have our front door back.”
Since the accident, Oxford Grillhouse had been operating with a strict limit of people allowed in the restaurant. Including staff, only 49 people were able to be inside at any given moment. Now that the project is progressing, the restaurant is able to return to its normal capacity.
Grantham construction has been placed in charge of the project, and in an effort to preserve the look of the building and restore it to its previous aesthetic design, they have had to work closely with the historical board. Issues with certain portions of the project will determine when the construction is complete. Vice president of Grantham Construction, Randy Johnson, gave an update on the project’s progress.
“There are some things that have to be worked out with the historical board about the canopy that got destroyed. That’ll have to be replaced,” Johnson said. “I’m not sure if they’re going to make them put back another metal one or if they can put a more modern type canopy. There’s also some metal underneath the canopy that can’t be replaced, and they’ll have to come up with what they’ll allow us to put back as a finish on that part of the exterior wall. Until that’s all decided, it’s hard to say when it will be completed.”
Johnson noted that once these issues are hashed out, the project will take at least a month to be completed.

Actually, your information is incorrect. We, The Oxford Grillehouse, are open at full capacity as of Friday March 10 at 4:30. We have full use of our front and side door so fire occupancy is back to normal.
    Thank you, Clint Boutwell Owner
