Rebels Band Together As Off-Season Workouts Begin Amid Negativity

Published

on

Yesterday, the Ole Miss football program received a notice of allegations from the NCAA’s ongoing investigation, and subsequently announced a self-imposed postseason ban for the 2017 season.
This morning, the team was back at the Manning Center for the beginning of spring workouts. With negativity swirling around the program, strength coach Paul Jackson posted the below photo of the team with the caption “CIRCUMSTANCE DOES NOT CHANGE THE STANDARD”.

Multiple players have retweeted the picture, including defensive leader Marquis Haynes, who announced his decision to return to Ole Miss for his senior season. Haynes also tweeted to reaffirm his commitment to the staff.

In certain cases, NCAA sanctions allow players to transfer without having to sit out a season, but rising sophomore WR A.J. Brown quickly shot down any rumors of doing so.

So proud of this team and their commitment to Ole Miss. Am I the only one who sees the NCAA going after the entire SEC? Begins with who they consider the weakest link and it WILL extend up the chain. When are we as a University going to stand up to this bunch of bullies and demand a face to face with our accusers? Immunity? I don’t think so. Show us the proof. Also, what makes the NCAA think they’re above the constitution? When in the history of ever has it been legal to hold a person accountable for the actions of another? We need to challenge this in court and knock the NCAA down a notch or two. Just sayin’
