Freshman infielder Baron Davies has been named the MACJC Baseball Player of the Week for his efforts in the Rangers’ season-opening sweep of Shawnee last Saturday.
Davies was 2-for-3 with a double, two-run home run, three runs scored and five RBIs in his Ranger debut.
A Southaven product, Davies helped the Chargers to a district championship last season while being named a second team all-state and an all-metro selection.
Davies and the Rangers (3-1) host Rend Lake on Saturday, Feb. 18 for a 2 p.m. doubleheader at Jim Miles Field.
