Coach Hugh Freeze locks in the vaught as the Rebels prepare to take the field Saturday taking on the Georgia Bulldogs Saturday at Vaught-Hemmingway stadium.
Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze has been adamant that if any of his assistants were involved in any recruiting wrongdoing, action would be taken. If this latest news is any indication, Freeze appears to have been telling the truth.
According to the Oxford Eagle‘s Davis Potter, citing multiple sources, Ole Miss assistant coach Barney Farrar has been placed on administrative leave. Farrar, who is currently listed as Ole Miss’ Assistant A.D./High School & Junior College Relations, has been on Freeze’s Ole Miss staff since 2011.
Farrar was one of the Ole Miss coaches named in the Laremy Tunsil texts that were leaked online during the 2016 NFL Draft. In one of the leaks, many have suspected “Barney” to be Farrar.

Hugh Freeze: Rebels QB Shea Patterson has the ‘it’ factor

Patterson’s sensational college debut in Saturday’s 29-28 upset of over No. 8 Texas A&M at Kyle Field was the kind of display Freeze expected.
“I have kind of always known he’s had that ‘it’ factor,” Freeze said. “I leave very few high school games thinking the kid is a no-brainer. We obviously have to develop them. But I got one opportunity to watch him play, and I left that game with a man crush on him.”
The numbers for Patterson against Texas A&M were impressive — 25-of-42 passes for 338 yards and two touchdowns, as well as 15 carries for 64 yards. But considering the circumstances, the performance was especially memorable.
