SEC Power Rankings: LSU Roars into Second Place as Rebels Rebound in College Station

Published

on

SEC Power RankingsLSU’s interim coach Ed Orgeron slammed the Razorbacks 38-10 in Fayetteville, setting up the Bengals beautifully for their delayed contest this coming Saturday with the Florida Gators. While this blowout was occurring, Alabama was humiliating Mississippi State to the tune of 51-3; Missouri surprised Vanderbilt 26-17; Georgia also caught Auburn napping 13-7; Florida coasted past SC 20-7; and Tennessee outscored Kentucky 49-36.

However, the biggest shocker of the evening saw the 8.5 point underdog Ole Miss Rebels winning their first game of the season on the road (29-28) and squaring their record at 5-5, 2-4 in the league. This game was critically important for the Rebels in keeping their bowl hopes alive and now making them the clear favorite in the final two games, at Vanderbilt and Thanksgiving home Saturday against you know who.

Here’s how the SEC Rankings are currently shaping up as three teams have now completed conference play.

This weekend (11/19) the featured game is Florida at LSU which could decide the eastern champion, who will face Alabama. A Gator win would close out Tennessee. Other games have Missouri at Tennessee; Arkansas at MSU; and Ole Miss traveling to Nashville to round out the SEC matchups. Nonconference games have Austin Peay at Kentucky; AL A&M at Auburn; Chattanooga at Alabama; Western Carolina at SC; UTSA at Texas A&M; and Louisiana at Georgia.
