“I was born and raised in Memphis, TN and but now reside in Fayette County, TN. I am proud of my hometown! I am constantly inspired by the rich beauty of my surroundings, both urban and rural. I love that I get to be a ‘southern woman,’ passing down those treasured traditions to my daughter. As an artist, I am completely self-taught and continually developing my personal style by layering different mediums with acrylic. I paint on canvas and wood, using palette knives as much as my brushes. I am inspired by my surroundings, and I love creating rich color dimensions as well as layers of texture to add visual interest. I have such a passion for painting, the entire process and every part of it that I get lost in it,” said Kelly Ussery.
