Ole Miss will offer a peek behind the curtain.

On Sunday, the Rebels’ Twitter account posted an open invitation for students to watch football practice starting at 4:15 p.m. local time Tuesday. You have to admit that this is a cool move. More SEC programs should copy the idea. And who knows? Perhaps some of the masses on campus will rekindle interest in Ole Miss after the Rebels’ recent slide.

Ole Miss lost to Auburn on Saturday, which marked the Rebels’ third consecutive defeat. At 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the SEC, Ole Miss likely is far from where players and coaches thought they would be heading into November.

The Ole Miss Rebels football season has turned out to be disappointing. It is time to consider the possibility of a season without a bowl game.

The Rebels’ football season has taken an unexpected turn. Many fans started the year talking about a possible run at a SEC Championship. However, the Rebels will do well if they make a bowl game this year.

The chance of the Rebels making a bowl game has shrunk after the loss to Auburn. Ole Miss only has four games left. They must win three out of the four in order to be eligible for a bowl game this year.

Ole Miss soccer senior Gretchen Harknett has been named to the All-SEC Second Team, the league office announced Sunday.

The senior finished the regular season with three goals and three assists, and is currently tied for the most starts of any Rebel in school history with 84. She’s also tied for third in career games played with 85, and is one of the nation’s active career leaders with her 85 games played.

The All-SEC honor marks the second of Harknett’s career after she was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2013. She currently has 13 career assists and 13 career goals, and will finish her career having played in 7,000-plus minutes on the pitch.

Harknett and the Rebels open SEC Tournament play Monday in Orange Beach at 3:30 p.m. CT against No. 7 seed Tennessee.
