“I was two years old when I first felt the stirrings of art in my soul. From that moment on it has always been a part of my life.
I have always been “artsy,” but it wasn’t until I was married and had children that I began a career as a faux finisher and muralist. While I was doing that, a designer that I worked with told me that I should take some actual art lessons and learn how to paint. So in my mid-forties, I began a new career as an oil painter, and I have continued to learn and grow as I try new things and experiment with new subjects and styles.
I am always influenced by the places I have lived and traveled. Like my life, my work is filled with light, happiness and movement. Southern scenes, still lifes of familiar objects and food, as well as local historic icons and landmarks are things I like to paint.
I use thick oil paint to create paintings with texture that makes you want to touch them. Each piece is sealed with a protective coating that protects it from splatters (kitchens), moisture (bathrooms) and sunlight (it’s UV protected so you can even put your painting on an outdoor covered porch or kitchen).
From my home in Brandon, MS, I continue to enjoy God’s gift of art as I produce original oil paintings and custom projects by commission.
I cannot presume to predict what the public will want to possess, I can only paint what I love and hope that someone else will love it as well.” -Lorrie Drennan

Two lifelong friends, we believe that what we carry should effortlessly fit in with our lifestyles and that good design is a meeting of practicality and beauty. Our designs are inspired by the simplicity of our small-town childhoods, the adventure of our world travels, and the timelessness of the well-made.
Four Rivers is proud to hail from New Orleans and proud to support the local women who craft our products by hand. We believe in the good life, in the joys of travel, in the comfort of home, and in providing women like us with products that will last.
