We sat down with Jacob Young of Death Valley Voice to preview Saturday’s Ole Miss game with LSU.
What is the general feeling of the LSU fans after Les Miles was fired and Ed Orgeron was named interim coach?
Overall, I think the fanbase is pretty happy with the way things have played out. Les Miles refused to alter his offensive approach whatsoever, and people got really sick of that. Ed Orgeron has come in and turned a stagnant and at times lifeless, team into a dominant force, and the way he has done so is remarkably simple. All he’s really had to do is adapt his scheme to fit the skill set of his players, rather than force feeding them a system and refusing to change.

Every college football media outlet has its own version of a pick ’em. SB Nation’s will focus on only the biggest games of the week. Here are the games we’re picking this week, followed by our picks and our rules.
No. 6 Texas A&M at No. 1 Alabama: According to ESPN Radio, only four times in the last 30 years has a game featuring a No. 1 team vs. a top-six team had a spread of over 17 points. Alabama is favored by 19.
No. 23 Ole Miss at No. 25 LSU: Can Ole Miss bounce back off an emotional loss to Arkansas? This will be the first chance for LSU to show it is for real under coach Ed Orgeron.

Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly decides to throw instead of handing off to Akeem Judd as the Rebels take on the Georgia Bulldogs Saturday at Vaught-Hemmingway stadium.
Who holds the edge position-by-position when Ole Miss visits LSU…
Quarterbacks
Chad Kelly remains one of the nation’s most dynamic quarterbacks. He leads the SEC with 308.2 passing yards per game, having completed 133-of-213 attempts for 1,849 yards, 14 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He is equally dangerous with his legs when flushed outside of the pocket.
Danny Etling assumed the starting job for the Tigers in place of Brandon Harris. Etling has been serviceable, throwing for an average of 185 yards per contest. So far, he’s been a winner but his passing can be inconsistent at times. he has completed 70-of-119 passes for 925 yards and six TDs. He does a good job taking care of the football with only two picks to his credit.
