After a much needed bye week, the Rebel’s will take their talents to Fayetteville to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks. Although the two teams seem to be heading in opposite directions, with Ole Miss being on a two game winning streak and Arkansas losing two of their last three games, Rebel fans know the impact of this game.  Last year, the Rebels were quite literally a 4th and 25 stop away from not only beating the Hogs, but also winning the SEC West. This year, Ole Miss looks to continue their quest to Atlanta and defeat Arkansas for the first time since 2013. Here are three things the Rebels must do to beat Arkansas.

  1. Force Turnovers

Anyone who watched last year’s matchup in Oxford will remember Brandon Allen throwing all over the landshark defense. Brandon Allen is gone, but his brother, Austin Allen, has been equally impressive. Allen threw for 400 yards against the Alabama defense, so it is likely that he will have plenty of success Saturday night. Ole Miss will need to force multiple turnovers to combat the passing game that Austin Allen brings to the table.

  1. Establish a Running Game

Everyone knows that Chad Kelly and the Ole Miss offense can put up points in the blink of an eye. However, the Hogs proved last year that you do not want to get into a shootout with them. If the Rebels can get a successful rushing attack going, they can control the clock and have a better chance of leaving Fayetteville with a win.

  1. Stay Focused

Ole Miss has had no problem getting off to fast starts this year, as they are outscoring opponents 55-6 in the first quarter. In a game like this, however, the Rebels need to be prepared to get punched in the mouth early. Arkansas will come out with a lot of energy and look to put Ole Miss out early. No matter what happens on the gridiron Saturday night, Ole Miss needs to keep their composure and stay focused on the task at hand.
