Uncommon Oxford Brings New Style of Living to Oxford
Next fall Ole Miss students will have a new type of apartment-style living available to them. Uncommon Oxford is currently signing leases for the new space that is set to be move-in ready August 2017.
Uncommon Oxford offers fully furnished apartments, cookware and dishware, 50-inch televisions, laundry service, grocery service, trash valet and round-the-clock gym access, study lounge, concierge, maintenance service and doorman. Bed spaces start at $800 and that price includes all utilities and internet except for electricity and offers an upgraded cable package in all units that has the SEC Network.
“Our concierge can make appointments for you, find hotels for your parents, anything you need,” said Anna Claire Anderson, leasing manager at Uncommon Oxford. “We also have a trash chute on each floor but if you don’t want to walk to the end of the hall, you can just leave it outside your door and it will be gone in the morning. It’s like magic.”
As part of their marketing plan, the Uncommon Oxford crew sets up a tent in the Grove during every home football game.
“We tailgate in the Grove because we want to get in front of our market,” Anderson said. “We want to be part of this whole culture. Our student housing option is for Ole Miss fans, not people who just come here to go to college. The location is for students who are here because it is Ole Miss, and we feel the same way. We want to be as much a part of their college experience as being in Oxford is.”
Nicholas Read is currently working as a community assistant for Uncommon Oxford, but will also be a resident when the apartments open next fall. Read is excited about the new living environment that Uncommon Oxford will offer to the student community.
“This place has fabulous amenities,” Read said. “It creates the ideal southern living environment for the University of Mississippi students.”
There will also be underground parking for residents and retail space on the first floor. The contracts for the retail space are still open but residents should expect businesses such as coffee shops and sandwich shops.
“This is a unique student housing option,” Anderson said. “This opportunity to live on the Square is something that some kids are not afforded, and we offer that. There won’t be another apartment complex with this kind of relatable retail space below it near the Square. There just isn’t land for it. It’s uncommon.”

It would be really, really nice if the article told us where Uncommon Oxford is located.

You can’t miss it if you’re driving to the square on W. Jackson; it’s on the right.
