5 Things Every Girl Needs For Recruitment Week At Ole Miss
In five days, the craziest week at the University of Mississippi begins.
Girls from all different kinds of backgrounds come together and go to every sorority house in hopes that they, too, will become a member of one of the eleven sororities that Ole Miss has to offer. Although this can be a stressful time, Recruitment Week is full of great memories that you’ll always remember.
Whether these memories come from your sticky boobs slowly starting to come off from the dreadful Mississippi heat or from the multiple blisters you get from having to sprint in heels between Sorority Drive and Rebel Drive in ten minutes; every single one you make, the good, the bad or the ugly will all be worth it when you open that bid card and run to your house on bid day.
1.) Oil Blotting Sheets
It’s only fair that this is our number one. The Mississippi heat and girls going through recruitment is not always a great mixture. Oil blotting sheets will definitely become your best friends during this week. It’s not always a bad idea either to carry around some extra powder. Nobody likes an oily face!
2.) Mints
Nobody likes stinky breath, so it’s only reasonable that this our number two. During rush, you’re up and personal trying to get to know the girls and their sororities. My favorite fresh breath trick was the little Listerine breath strips that dissolve in your mouth. It is quick and easy; I highly recommend these.
3.) Band-Aids
Band-Aids are always a good idea when walking anywhere in heels; especially when you’re sprinting in between Sorority Row and Rebel Drive in ten minutes; therefore, this has to be our number three. Believe me, your inner track star will defiantly come out. Sticky boobs can also be a pain after wearing them all day. Everyone knows that Band-Aids can come in handy for many different reasons! You definitely do not want to forget these.
4.) Makeup
Running around all day can be your worst nightmare when trying to look presentable. Carrying around some extra lip gloss and blush can definitely be a life saver during recruitment. I remember when I went through recruitment and it started pouring. Luckily, I had brought makeup wipes and some mascara. I did not want to look like a raccoon walking into the sorority houses! You’ll be very thankful that this our number four.
5.) Deodorant
Deodorant is always a friend; however, during recruitment, it’ll become your BFF. Recruitment is long and each day is different. Don’t be known as the stinky girl, always reapply. So here are our top five, and please, don’t forget our number five.
