Northwest Students Participate in Apex Leadership Summit at Ole Miss
Nine Northwest Mississippi Community College students participated in the Fifth Annual Community College Apex Leadership Summit July 24 to 26 at the University of Mississippi.
Students from statewide community colleges participated in leadership training sessions throughout the weekend.
Noah Fleener of Olive Branch, David Worley of Senatobia, Laraneisha Fairlee of Sumner, Marissa Edwards of Southaven, Brandon Smith of Senatobia, Jaron Cole of Hernando, Mary Cassidy McLaughlin of Senatobia, Hanna Legendre of Senatobia, Kendall Kimberlin of Olive Branch, Calla Basil of Blue Springs, Lindsey Douglas of Enid and Kallie Adair of Senatobia attended the summit with Abby Embrey, assistant director of Recruiting.
According to Embrey, the students participated in team-building exercises with other student leaders from community colleges all over the state. They learned leadership skills through an activity, and a project. Each group was given a toy and had to relate the toy to leadership qualities.
Douglas was a part of the group that won first place overall. She received an orientation fee waiver and application fee waiver. Kimberlin’s group earned second place overall. She received an orientation fee waiver. Worley and Basil were part of the group that won third place overall, and they both received an application fee waiver.
“We are always so appreciative of what the University of Mississippi teaches our student recruiters while we are there. They always come back to campus closer to one another and more enthusiastic about being a leader for the Recruiting Office and Northwest,” Embrey said.

COACH Freeze and the staff and players could not have a more appropriate war cry (if you can use that terminology).
After this spring with some naysayers’ publishing remarks and attempting to crush our spirits. Looking askance at all the Ole Miss recruiting and leadership cannot undermine the inescapable fact that we dwelt on integrity and great values in academics as well as athletics. I AM A REBEL and want ALL to RISE UP. HOTTY TODDY!!!!!!
