While helping lead the Ole Miss men’s tennis team to their 23rd consecutive NCAA appearance,Zvonimir Babic, Gustav Hansson and Robert Mounger earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).

Hansson, a native of Karlskrona, Sweden, earned the distinction for the second year in a row and is one of only eight players in Division I tennis to earn All-America and ITA Scholar-Athlete honors. In addition, Hansson earned All-SEC First Team honors and ended the year ranked No. 33 in the nation in singles. A managerial finance major, Hansson was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll and made the Dean’s list both semesters.
Babic (Zagreb, Croatia) also earned the honor a second time, after posting a 4.0 cumulative grade point average his sophomore year. He ended the year ranked No. 25 in the nation in doubles and participated in the NCAA Doubles Championship. In singles, he posted a 15-9 overall record, 10-4 in dual matches. Babic, who is majoring in accountancy, made the SEC Academic Honor Roll and the Chancellor’s Honor Roll both semesters.
Also majoring in accountancy, Mounger earned the honor for the first time. The Jackson, Mississippi native, made the SEC Academic Honor Roll as well as the Chancellor’s Honor Roll both semesters.
