Gallery: Oxford Square Buildings Adorned With Red, White & Blue
The Thompson House’s red, white and blue banners added to the celebration.
The 4th of July celebration on the Oxford Square began today with registration for the Stars & Stripes 5K and Fun Run at 6 a.m., and the square offices and merchants made sure they had their Red, White & Blue going on!
Enjoy these photos taken this morning on the 4th of July.
Firefighters Josh Ferguson and Corey Fortner secure a large flag on the boom of their fire truck.
Of course, the courthouse flag was standing tall.
First National Bank had their flags out!
Wilson Law Office and Ajax Diner had flags flying.
Square Books had three flags in the windows.
Always festive Neilson’s had banners across the store.
Hemline had very tasteful stars and stripes in its window.
There was no denying the Library’s patriotism!

“Bunting” is the correct term for the semi-circular hanging decorations referred to here as “banners”.
