Greenline Introduces “King of Pops” Popsicles To Menu
With temperatures rising, Greenline has a new way for customers to cool off for the summer. The restaurant introduced King of Pops popsicles to its menu during the Double Decker Arts Festival weekend in April.
Operational manager, Virginia Hendee said, “getting fresh popsicles in here, made with organic ingredients…gives everyone a taste of something sweet.”
Try something sweet!
Greenline sells several flavors of the popsicles ranging from Banana Pudding to Strawberry Lemonade to Chocolate Sea Salt. The icy treats sell for $3.50 a pop. Popsicles such as the Key Lime Pie and Cookies-n-Creme both have a cookie at the bottom- a sweet surprise!
Atlanta tested and approved
The Greenline team discovered the popsicle line in Atlanta, Georgia. King of Pops popsicles is sold in local grocery stores. “They keep it really fresh and really fun,” Hendee said.
Two brothers from Atlanta came up with popsicle line idea while on a trip to Central America. Steven and Nick fell in love with the latin-america ice pops and fruit. Steven who had been laid off from his job created a popsicle cart in 2010. His brother, Nick, later joined the King of Pops team, quitting his job as a lawyer. King of Pops now distributes its popsicles in Oxford, Athens and Nashville.
From Atlanta to Oxford
Members of the King of Pops team personally deliver the popsicles to Greenline.
“I think it’s exciting for them to see their business expanding and have people who are Atlanta based and like the popsicles,” Hendee said. “They want to bring it wherever they’ve moved and started a business.”
Greenline is open Mondays through Sundays at 11 a.m. on the Square.
