Double Decker Art Demonstrations Begin this Morning at 10

All is good with the world… Double Decker (DD) weekend is here.

The hassle of road closures and detours are a small price to pay for this – the 21st edition – of the popular springtime gathering on the Oxford Square.

Although seven art demonstrations begin this morning at 10 and continue until 3 p.m., the festival officially kicks off this evening at 6 with a concert by area musician Cory Branan who, afterward, will play a short set during the Thacker Mountain Radio Hour beginning at 7.

At 8, The Nightowls will rock the Oxford Square completing day one of this year’s festival.

Tonight’s overnight activity will consist of a Herculean effort by DD staffers to construct and transform the Square into what has become a regular and immensely popular staple in our small college town.
