McLeod & Guyer to Play Yalobusha Brewing Company this Friday at 6 p.m.
Water Valley musician Kevin Guyer is a busy man these days.
Heck, this week only he’s launched a new music venue in Water Valley (Foster Music and Arts), played countless notes on an equally countless number of instruments, worked his “real” job and is now set to play Yalobusha Brewing Co’s popular weekly event, Brewery Tours Tasting and Tunes on Friday night (April 22) beginning at 6.
Guyer is part of a duo he formed with his buddy John McLeod appropriately called McLeod & Guyer who – according to a Facebook announcement – play “acoustic music from the edge of bluegrass to the edge of rock; upbeat, country and folk.” Yep… that about covers it.
Brewery Tours Tasting and Tunes features tours of the facility, beer tastings and local and regional bands that jam until 9 p.m.
Although the weekly event begins at 1 p.m. and tours require a $10 fee, its 6-9 p.m. music block is free of charge and begins early enough that attendees are guaranteed an early night. The $10 fee includes a tour of the unique brewery as well as six 6-ounce samples of Yalo beer (36 awesome ounces in total). The brewery also allows patrons to bring food from any local restaurant if they wish and kids are welcome to attend.
Make plans to spend the evening with the McLeod & Guyer tomorrow at 6 and be ready to sip generous samples of Yalo brew and be sure to “wear your dancing shoes” as Guyer likes to proclaim whenever he plays… which is a lot.
