Spring Harvest Supper Supports Lamar Legacy

Farm-to-table affair to help feed endowment with funding

The great, great, great grandson of L.Q.C. Lamar, Luke Heiskell is part of the living legacy of Oxford’s most historically significant statesman, and he’s helping keep it going for generations to learn about his ancestor. Heiskell and his wife Elizabeth, lead culinary instructor at Viking Cooking School, will host a Spring Harvest Supper at their Woodson Ridge Farms on April 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Lamar Legacy Friends endowment and educational programming at the L.Q.C. Lamar House Museum in Oxford.

Woodson Ridge Farms spring vegetables will highlight dinner after a wine tasting from Kiamie Package Store, Cathead Vodka signature cocktails, or beer courtesy of the Clark Beverage Group, all accompanied by musical entertainment. A limited number of dinner guests can be accommodated, so the Heiskells encourage reserving a space. Tickets are $75 per person, with the following options:

• Include the ticket cost along with membership fee for Lamar Legacy Friends, and the tickets will be waiting for at the Friends table on April 7.
• Buy in person at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or call the Powerhouse at 236-6429 and charge the tickets.
• Buy online at http://lamarlegacyfundraiser.bpt.me.

Note that all who join Lamar Legacy Friends at the Patron level ($250-plus) or above will receive two free tickets.

To get to Woodson Ridge Farms, take Highway 30 east to County Road 215, turn left, and go one mile. Look for the Woodson Ridge Farms sign.
