Prayer Walk, Donation for Homeless To Be Held at Stone Park
Mac Turner, president of The United Brothers and Sisters and former Tupelo councilman, is hosting a prayer walk for Lafayette County and a homeless item drive at Stone Park on March 26.
The walk will start at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, and Turner welcomes everyone, especially churches, to join him and The United Brothers and Sisters. The United Brothers and Sisters will be specifically praying to end violence and praying for the homeless.
“We’re about to solve the homeless problem [in Oxford],” Turner said. “It takes a village to help the homeless.”
Turner said after the prayer, an Easter egg hunt will take place at Stone Park while the donations for the homeless are collected. Items to be donated can be clothes, underwear (new), blankets, collections for haircuts, water and tents.
“Two years ago, we had 27 homeless students at Ole Miss, how we have only one and are helping,” Turner said.
For more information on the prayer walk and homeless donation call Mac Turner at 662-523-7124 or 662-488-5617. Stone Park is located at 423 Washington Avenue in Oxford, Mississippi.
