Chick-fil-A Brings Inspiration, Love with the Fourth Annual Daddy-Daughter Princess Ball in Oxford
To the world, Monday and Tuesday, February 8 – 9, are ordinary days, but in Oxford, little girls and their fathers will be swept away to ‘under the sea’ at the Chick-fil-A’s fourth annual Daddy-Daughter Princess Ball.
At this undersea-themed Daddy-Daughter Princess Ball, the fathers and daughters can enjoy a dinner with dessert, a photo booth and ‘paparazzi,’ along with games, crafts and dancing. Five princesses will be there to meet the Oxford princesses and their kings.
Chick-fil-a, located on the Jackson Avenue West, is hosting this event with the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council, Office Depot, The Home Depot, Holli’s Sweet Tooth, Oxford Floral and the Rebel Kids’ Club.
The sparkling, memorable evenings at the Oxford Conference Center will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a 5:00 p.m. registration at the doors. The tickets are available at Chick-fil-A, Holli’s Sweet Tooth and online at EventBrite.com. These tickets are $15 individually with a $40 cap for fathers who have nearly as many princesses as King Triton from The Little Mermaid.
Amid all the fun at the Daddy-Daughter Princess Ball, the fathers and their daughters will have an opportunity to express their love for each other at this event. For example: At the Parisian-themed Princess Ball in 2014, the fathers and their daughters placed tiny, golden locks on a small white bridge with secret messages written by the daughters, conveying how much their fathers mean to them – a sweet copy of the famous Pont des Arts in Paris, France.

The Oxonian businesses work hard each year to host these inspirational, loving nights for the local fathers and their daughters.
Morgan Fyfe, marketing director for Chick-fil-a on Jackson Avenue West, said, “We have multiple meetings with the other businesses involved and this is where a good portion of the brainstorming takes place. As far as the message, we really value encouraging these young girls and providing a memorable night for dads and their daughters. In this time and age, it is harder for families to be brought together in a positive light and also for young girls to hear an uplifting message about themselves that is true.”
At this year’s ball, the content of the inspirational message is secret, but the fathers can make a wonderful gift for their daughters.
Fyfe said, “This year the fathers will be able to write their daughters a message in a bottle and give it to them as a keepsake to always remember how special and valued they are.”
The Oxonian Chick-fil-a’s owner and operator, Lance Reed, created and organized the event in 2013 as a way to bring together the community. He watched the event grow from around 400 people attending in one night to 600-plus people over two nights in 2014 and then 800-plus in two nights last year at the Lyric. He is coming full-circle since he began the event in 2013 at the Oxford Conference Center.

Fyfe said, “My favorite part of the event is seeing the community come together. It is such a special reward to see so many fathers walk through the doors with their daughters and spend time with them without distractions. The heartbeat of Chick-fil-A is more than the food we make, we are passionate about investing in families and the town we’ve been placed in. The Princess Ball is the perfect opportunity for us to pour into Oxford along with other businesses.”
