The award, which is presented by Nationwide, was established in 1970. One of the most prestigious awards in the NFL, the Walter Peyton NFL MOTY award recognizes performance on and off the field.

According to the Giants, Manning has been the Giant’s Man of the Year from 2007-2013. Manning has served as the chair of the New York March of Dimes for the last seven years, and he has helped raised $25 million for the organization. Manning also heads “Tackle Kid’s Cancer” in partnership with Hackensack University Medical Center.

Manning is also part of charities at his alma mater and spends much time in Oxford, Mississippi. Manning even teams up with the University of Mississippi Medical Center to create The University of Mississippi Medical Center Family Fund, which raised over $1.5 million in 2015- its first year.

Eli and his wife, Abby, are also the founders of the Eli and Abby Manning Children’s Clinic in Mississippi, which was founded in 2007. Manning told the Giants reporter, Michael Eisen, that giving back to Mississippi is important.
