Country music singer, Brad Paisley brought his Country Nation College Tour presented by Zaxby’s to the Pavilion at Ole Miss on Sunday, January 24.

Paisley is the first to play a concert at the new Pavilion, which opened earlier in January. Ole Miss is the tenth IMG college partner to welcome Paisley and his band for the Country Nation College Tour.

“You’ve got a beautiful new facility here. It’s a pleasure to be here,” Pasiley said.

Paisley added rising country music signer, Cam, to the tour for the pre-show entertainment. Cam sparked the crowd’s interest when she came on stage in a powder blue Ole Miss t-shirt. Cam preformed various melodies, including her hit song “Burning House” before introducing Paisley to the stage, which was adorned with a lit up bar and large big screen.

While welcoming the Ole Miss crowd to the show and complimenting the new Pavilion, Pasiley also told fans that his manager is an Ole Miss graduate. Hotty Toddy!

“I have a lot of friends that live right here in Oxford, Mississippi,” Paisley said to thousands of admiring fans. “It’s a pleasure to finally play this town.”

While Paisley is known for his smooth voice and hit lyrics, he also is a master guitar player. Paisley played on several guitars at the concert, as he swapped back and forth between electric and acoustic sounds. After playing an acoustic intro into a song, Paisley walked down the stage and gave the guitar to a young fan.

Paisley embraced the Rebel atmosphere, especially after he preformed his hit song “Old Alabama” which features the legendary country band, Alabama. After the song, Paisley acknowledged that the Alabama Crimson Tide won the recent national championship, but the Ole Miss Rebels were the only team that scored a victory against the Tide. Therefore, Paisley received a roar from the Ole Miss crowd when he predicted that it is Ole Miss’ turn to win the championship next year, which led to a Hotty Toddy cheer! Thanks, Brad! We won’t let you down!

Needless to say, Paisley won the Ole Miss crowd over last night with his electrical performance at the Pavilion. Paisley preformed his hit songs such as “She’s Everything to Me”, “Whiskey Lullaby”, “Country Nation” (which mentions the Ole Miss Rebels), “Perfect Storm” and his latest single “Crushin’ It” from his Moonshine in the Trunk album.

Apart from his Country Nation College Tour, Paisley is also on his Crushin’ It World Tour, which began its winter leg of the tour this month.

Thanks for “Crushin’ It” at the Pavilion at Ole Miss Brad and Cam! Hotty toddy!

Extra! Here’s a video of the Rebs locking the Vaught inside the Pavilion. Paisley came out later and played the song himself, which of course, led to everyone in the Pavilion locking the Vaught!

Good article, Emily, but the word is performed not “preformed”. Once could be an oversight, but three times in one article is a little much! Spellcheck won’t work on this problem, so get someone to edit for you!
