Oxford Crime Report: Wednesday, January 6
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six alarms, two lost properties, two fire department assists, a motorist assist, a disturbance, an animal complaint, a suspicious activity, a code violation, a grand larceny, a credit card fraud, a careless driving and a burglary at 2028 University Avenue.
Oxford police investigated seven wrecks, issued 10 traffic citations and made two arrests on the following charges:
DUI
Possession of drug paraphernalia
University police responded to the following incidents: a suspicious person at Campus Walk, a petit larceny at Ole Miss Union, a vandalism to vehicle at Tad Smith Coliseum and a traffic detail at Martindale Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents:
Water flow alarm at 11:35 a.m. caused by workers knocking a sprinkler head off the ceiling at 10 Thacker Loop
Cancelled call at 12:39 at Oxford Health & Rehab
Smoke detector malfunction at 2:37 p.m. at Johnson B. Commons
Fire at 2:54 p.m. caused by grease catching fire on the stove during cooking at The Retreat at Oxford
