The Ole Miss basketball team travels to Baton Rouge on Saturday to tangle with the LSU Tigers in the SEC finale.

Ole Miss (22-8, 11-6 SEC) goes into the Tigers’ Den of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center after an 87-83 victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rebels last home game of the 2012-13 regular season. Junior Marshall Henderson, led the team in scoring on Tuesday against the Crimson Tide with 24 points. Henderson has drained a total of 117 3-pointers, placing himself atop of the Ole Miss single-season three-pointers made list, that was previously held by former Ole Miss player  Chris Warren.

Coach Andy Kennedy’s squad currently is tied for third in the SEC standings and could lock up a double round bye in the tournament with a win at LSU.  If the tournament started today, Ole Miss would be the No. 4 seed in the SEC Tournament in Nashville beginning next week.

LSU (18-10, 9-8 SEC) defeated the Texas A&M Aggies on the road Wednesday night by a score of  68-57.  Senior Charles Carmouche had the hot hand for the Tigers in Aggieland, scoring twenty points.  The Tigers have accrued a 14-2 record at home.

Ole Miss and LSU are meeting for the 203rd time on Saturday, with the Tigers holding the series lead at 117-85.  In Baton Rouge, LSU has a 49 game winning advantage over the Rebels with the record sitting at 77-28.  In the last meeting between the teams back in February, Ole Miss defeated LSU by a score of 72-48.

Fans can watch all the action between the Rebels and the Tigers on the SEC Network with tip off set for 12:30 p.m.
