Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, November 17
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 12 alarms, five suspicious persons, three animal complaints, two motorist assists, a code violation, a larceny, an improper parking, a harassing phone call, a scam and a disturbance.
Oxford police investigated one wreck, issued 20 traffic citations and made eight arrests on the following charges:
(2) Possession of Schedule I controlled substance
Speeding, DUI to first degree, and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle
Ran a red light with a suspended driver’s license
DUI to first degree and obstruction of traffic
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Outstanding warrant served
Shoplifting
University police responded to the following incidents: two vehicle stops, a vandalism to vehicle in Women’s Terrance lot, an accidental hit and run at Martin Hall, a service call for an ambulance at Luckyday Residential College, and a traffic assist on Chucky Mullins Drive
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents:
Water flow alarm at 12:41 p.m. due to water not flowing in the system at Solo Apartments
Power line sparking at 9:34 p.m. caused by a tree limb falling on it at Chickasaw Bluff
Kitchen smoke detector malfunction at 10:29 p.m. by 801 South 16th
