With the horrific events over the weekend from Paris, even the left leaners are beginning to rethink immigration and gun control.

Speaking to an overflow crowd Saturday in Beaumont, Donald Trump brought the 5,000 supporters to their feet when he ended the speech on the theme: “Let’s Make America Great Again.”

Why has Donald Trump captured the imagination of the Republican electorate? From my perspective, it’s an easy one to handicap (Trump has now risen to 42 percent in the most recent Reuters/Ipsos poll). Trump is in favor of the core values that have made the U.S. the world’s leader since World War II. These include a strong economy, a strong military and respect for law enforcement.

What the American voter is saying in the 2015/2016 election cycle is “we’ve seen enough of government negligence.” With the out-of-control deficit suffocating and endangering the national security, the time for earmarks has gone with the wind.

On the other side, listening to the Democrats reminds me of Santa Claus without the after Christmas bills. It’s a fantasy land that no longer has any merit. The one percentile simply cannot pay for all the giveaways the Democrats desire. It’s truly time for our country to go back to work.

Being an economic developer for three decades, I truly understand the value of manufacturing and a product driven economy versus a service sector one. Importing finished goods from China, Japan and Mexico will ultimately weaken the country even further. It’s time to grow the economy by bringing these jobs home.

Trump understands this better than most and realizes excessive governmental regulations are strangle-holding entrepreneurship. He truly “gets it” whereas the others cannot see the forest for the trees.

I believe Donald Trump may be our last realistic chance to “Make America Great Again.”

(Comments, opposite views are not only welcomed, but encouraged. In my opinion, our greatest fear is not differing viewpoints, but apathy.)

I guess this endorsement shouldn’t be surprising coming from someone who thought it would be a good idea to put Sarah Palin a heart beat away from the Presidency.

Great article and you are correct things need to change and in a hurry! As far as TampaRebel is concerned Palin would have been a much more effective LEADER than the clown that’s in office now. I mean he is going to Banckrupt this country and has made America look weak among our enemies and just wants to give everything to people who refuse to work for it!

In the end the 2016 Presidential election as well as all of the under cards across the country will pit those who work for a living against those who”vote for a living.” Perhaps including a non politician on the GOP presidential ticket, whomever it may be, could speed the process of returning to a strong military, a strong economy and respect for not only law enforcement but the laws of the country that have existed for years and are totally ignored by the current occupant of the White House.

We’ve had the politicans, without success. Maybe it’s time for a businessman to run the world’s largest business.

So HT is now a site promoting partisan politics? The disclaimer means nothing since there has not been a posted article advocating any other candidate or party on this site. Is there a claim of political objectivity? If so, when will there be an article posted stating all the failed policies of conservative politics. Or one exposing the absolute foolishness of the blather and bluster advocated by Trump?
