NBC’s “The Voice” Coming to Memphis

voice2

NBC’s The Voice is coming to Memphis, Tennessee on January 23, 2016. So far, there are only four scheduled open call auditions for the show including the cities of Huston, Chicago and Philadelphia.

Every year, thousands of hopeful musicians sign up to audition to become the next “voice” of America. Do you think you have what it takes? Maybe “The Voice” will be one of Mississippi’s own talents. We hope so! In fact, we are the birth place of America’s music!

How to Audition

1) Set up an artist account.

2) Choose the city you want to audition in.

3) Print your artist audition pass.

4) Audition!

What to sing?

Since you can choose any song you want to, we suggest some Mississippi tunes like Down in Mississippi by Sugar Land, Mississippi Girl by Faith Hill (truly a Mississippi girl) or even Mississippi Kid by Lynyrd Skynyrd to name a few.

You could even sing a song written by one of many Mississippi musicians like Elvis Presley, Jimmy Buffet, Leanne Rimes or B.B. King.

Go Prepared

Only your voice will be heard at the open call auditions. That means no guitars, pianos, harmonicas, back ground singers, etc. Just your voice! Remember, if you cannot make it to this audition, you can send in a video submission.

If you pass the open call auditions, you will go to the callback auditions. Bring three songs that are popular, but be prepared to sing a song of the producer’s choice. This time, you can bring your instruments and other music. You can do this!

If you are from Mississippi, let us know if we helped you and how your audition went! We hope to see your face on our TV soon.

Oh, and send in a picture with you and your coach! Who will you choose? Blake, Adam, Pharrell or Gwen?

Make Mississippi proud!
