Oxford Crime Report: Monday, October 26
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five alarms, three suspicious activities, two disturbances, two suspicious activities, two noise violations, harassing phone calls, a motorist assist, a bad check, a lost property and a welfare concern.
Oxford police investigated 12 wrecks, issued six traffic citations and made one arrest for driving the wrong way on a one-way road with no car insurance but with a DUI.
University police department responded to the following calls: a vehicle stop on Northgate Drive, a service call of a suspicious person with a fake ID at Chi Omega house, a service call for an ambulance at Conner Hall, a vandalism at Kincannon field lot, an accidental hit and run on University Avenue and a possession of alcohol at Minor Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Smoke detector activation at 2:19 a.m. by water leaking onto it at 12 Jefferson Avenue
Smoke detector activated at 6:48 a.m. by a shower steam at Townhouse Suites by Marriott
Cancelled call at 9:53 a.m. at 760 Nottingham Drive
General alarm malfunction at 8:04 p.m. at Oxford Health and Rehab
