Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, October 8
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: three disturbances, three suspicious activities, two harassments, two malicious mischief, two lost properties, two burglaries at The Hub and The Mark, a careless driver, a shoplifting, a welfare concern, a 911 hang up call, an improper parking, and a petit larceny.
Oxford police investigated eight wrecks, issued 39 traffic citations and made eight arrests on the following charges:
Public intoxication
Careless driving and DUI
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Failure to dim headlights and DUI
Obstructing traffic and open container
Possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana
Speeding, suspended driver’s license and no car insurance
University police responded to the following incidents: six vehicle stops, a speeding with a suspended driver’s license on campus grounds, a traffic detail at Student Union Drive, a trespassing at Residential Hall 1, a larceny of bicycles at Lamar Hall, and a hit and run on campus grounds.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Multiple alarm activation at 1:43 p.m. due to the alarm company testing the system in Building 1 at The Hub
Smell of gasoline at 3:17 p.m. but nothing was discovered at 202 Powers Drive
Extrication at 5:38 p.m. from a rollover wreck with entrapment at CR 313
Hallway smoke detector activated at 8:03 p.m. by burned food at Northgate B208
