Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, October 1
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five alarms, four welfare concerns, two suspicious activities, two domestic disturbances, a 911 hang up call, a careless driver, a loud music disturbance, a disturbing the peace, a civil matter and a malicious mischief.
Oxford police investigated 11 wrecks, issued 58 traffic citations and made seven arrests on the following charges:
DUI
Speeding and possession of marijuana with intent
DUI and driving the wrong way on a one-way street
Possession of drug paraphernalia and improper equipment
Minor in possession with possession of drug paraphernalia
Malicious mischief with domestic violence (simple assault)
Careless driving, driving with suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct
University police responded to the following incidents: a reported incident on Sorority Row, a report of a suspicious person at Pi Kappa Phi house, a report of a supcious person at Fraternity Row, an accidental hit and run on university campus, a service call for an ambulance at Phi Delta Theta house, and a vehicle accident at Campus Walk.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Smoke detector activation at 12:17 a.m. accidentally set off by a resident at 594 Hathorn Road
Heat duct malfunction at 12:59 a.m. on the second floor of the Ice House
Smoke detector malfunction at 12:45 p.m. at the Pi Kappa Alpha house
Smoke detector malfunction at 2:38 p.m. at Delta Gamma house
