Oxford’s King twins are tireless: this week on October 1, Katherine and Margaret King are publishing their third children’s book Boo!. This book comes with a gift: a rap CD.

The new book, Boo!, is the second book of a series of three. It is the sequel to Backyard Campout where Kathy and Maggie with a friend team up against their brother Billy and his friend into a series of misadventures involving rabbit poop, live cockroaches and a haunted house – the same house the twins will see again in Boo!

They also published another children’s book: Kicking and Screaming that came out on the first day of August. In that book, the twins Kit and Kat are excited to start school until they found out they have to get the dreaded shots!

Margaret said their books are part of the schools’ Accelerated Reading programs for children. On October 1, the children may get a special gift along with their new copy of Boo!: the newest rap album, Y’all Twins?, featuring 14 songs from the King twins as produced by Breezewood Production.

The CDs can be ordered for $10 by contacting the King twins either on their website or their Facebook or at a book signing. They began rapping to promote their autobiography series: Y’all Twins? (2012), Which is Which?(2013), and Our Josephine (2014).

The twins joked that they called themselves ‘Crappers’ then because they couldn’t carry a tune, but they could do a beat. Some of their rapping can be seen on their YouTube channel.

Margaret said, “At book signings, we’ve had people say to us, ‘Y’all are so funny but where’s your CD? We’ll buy your books but where are your CDs?”

Katherine said that hers and Margaret’s favorite rap is ‘No Wonder I’m So Tired.’

Their album has the music that blends well with their light-hearted rapping. Margaret praised the studio for adding in the music post-production. Katherine said that they rapped without the music during recording since they couldn’t carry a tune, let alone rap with music in the background.

Their gift of rapping has made it as far as the online People magazine where they were featured rapping at the Twins Day Festival at Twinsburg, Ohio.

The King twins enjoy bringing laughter to everyone, so their work in producing the books and a rap album is all part of the good fun.

“Everything we do is positive,” said Margaret. “We love to make people laugh and think.” Their love for laughter drives them to continue writing more books.

“We are not afraid of hard work,” said Katherine. “Everything we do is for Josephine. When we give the books to the children, we tell them about Josephine.”

The twins give the profits from Our Josephine to their beloved former caretaker, Josephine Sanders. They still talk to her often, and they remember the lesson she taught them: Respect people, no matter what color their skin is.

Keep an eye out for the King twins, although it would be hard to miss these famous Oxonians during their adventures!
