Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, September 3
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six improper parking, three noise violations, three suspicious activities, three welfare concerns, two alarms, two disturbances, an ambulance assist, an animal complaint, a malicious mischief, a simple assault, a code violation, a motorist assist, a 911 hang up call, and a burglary at Laurel Cove.
Oxford police investigated nine wrecks, issued 48 traffic citations and made 18 arrests on the following charges:

Speeding and DUI
Speeding and reckless driving
Public intoxication and fake ID
Careless driving, minor in possession of alcohol and DUI
Public intoxication, fake ID and possession of schedule II narcotics
Speeding, suspended driver’s license, no insurance and possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana
University police responded to the following incidents: a vehicle stop on All-American Drive, a public drunk at Martin Hall, a trespassing at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, a possession of alcohol at Crosby Hall, a fraud and embezzlement at Residential College, and a fight on Magnolia Drive.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a cancelled call at 7:24 p.m. about a wreck at Prophet Bridge area, and a smoke detector activated at 10:57 p.m. due to heat and air from a blow dryer at Phi Mu house.
