The university issued a MSU Maroon Alert at 10:20 a.m. stating that an active shooter was reported near Carpenter Hall, the school’s mechanical engineering department. The gunman was later seen near the university’s main administration building, Lee Hall.
MSU issued an all-clear and has announced that classes will resume at 2 p.m.
Rumors spread on social media outlets that a second shooter was on campus, but MSU officials said the reports were false.
