Thomas Rico – Domestic: Aggravated Assault

On August 18, Oxford police investigators charged Thomas James Rico, 33 of Oxford, with Domestic Aggravated Assault. Officers were called to Rico’s home near Highway 30 where they found the victim had been assaulted. Rico was still on scene and arrested there. He has been charged with Domestic Aggravated Assault {97-3-7(3)} and his bond was set at $2,500.

Cedtavious Coleman – Auto Burglary

On Saturday, August 15, the Oxford police officers arrested Cedtavious Coleman, 21 of Oxford, for auto burglary. Mounted patrol officers responded to the area around 11th Street & Tyler Avenue where they found the victims and Coleman in a verbal altercation. Coleman was arrested after officers determined that he did break and enter the car. Coleman was given a bond of $5,000.

Lathaddious Truly – Home Burglary

On Sunday, August 16, the Oxford police officers arrested Lathaddious Truly, 20 of Charleston, for burglary. Truly was arrested after officers responded to The Greens apartment complex and found him inside the victim’s home. Truly broke through the front door and damaged property on the inside. Truly was taken for his initial appearance and was given a bond of $5,000.

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four alarms, three noise violations, three suspicious activities, two welfare concerns, two disturbances, two motorist assists, two animal complaints, a careless driver, an ambulance assist, a false pretense, a malicious mischief, and a recovered property per wallet being returned to owner.

Oxford police investigated four wrecks, issued 22 traffic citations and made six arrests on the following charges:

  • (2) Careless driving & DUI
  • (2) Public intoxications
  • Trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Warrant served

 

University police responded to the following incidents: six vehicle stops, a suspicious vehicle on Old Taylor Road, an accidental hit and run in Sorority Lot, and a suspicious person on Sorority Row.

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a smoke detector malfunction at 6:02 a.m. at Soulshine Pizza and a cancelled call at 6:24 a.m. over a wreck with a light pole at 1936 University Avenue.
