The Ole Miss football team took to the field in full pads for the first time Monday morning for their fifth practice.

The younger players took to the field first to get some reps in while the veterans joined in the second half. Head coach Hugh Freeze seemed pleased with the day’s work as he addressed the media.

“I think there’s a lot of carryover from spring with the older guys that I’m very happy with.. I see a tremendous amount of effort. Their attitude has been great,” said Freeze. “I really believe our team can take a stand if they understand that what comes out of these 23 days of camp before we get into game week will have a direct impact when the time comes.”

When asked about how hard the team would be hitting, Freeze said they are not going to take to the ground an awful lot but will be physical at the point of attack.

Regarding injuries, Freeze reported that the team is healthy despite a few minor aggravations.

He said, “Taz Zettermans got a turf toe that’s slowed him down some, Liggins has got a little hamstring that may cause him to not get every period and Aaron Morris hasn’t been turned totally loose yet but he has looked good in the periods that he’s had, we had Vanderburgh go down today, haven’t heard on what that was.”

There is little to report with the progression of naming a starting quarterback as Freeze says he is still seeing inconsistency and is waiting to see more of what the quarterbacks can do under unscripted situations.

Junior offensive linesman Robert Conyers took the stand to discuss practice as well as the progress of the team as a whole.

“It’s good, a lot of guys are in there working hard. I’ve never really felt this comfortable with those guys in there, I mean everyone’s just working, everyone’s having fun, its never really been like that in meetings, everyone’s just joking around having a good time the whole time, but it’s serious still,” said Robert Conyers.

Junior wide receiver Quincy Adeboyejo also took to the stand to address the media, to discuss his fall camp goals.

“Pretty much just being consistent, learning my plays, running tempo, just getting where I need to be, running the right route and blocking most likely because I’m kind of small so I’ve got to work on blocking a lot,” said Adeboyejo.

Regarding his overall season goals Adeboyejo says he wants to be the best he can be and if that means contributing to get a win he wants to be the person to do that.
