Oxford Crime Report: Monday, August 3
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: three larcenies, two alarms, two welfare concerns, two suspicious activities, two suspicious vehicles, two burglaries, two counterfeit currencies, an ambulance assist, a motorist assist, an open door, and a suspicious person.
Oxford police investigated three wrecks and made five arrests on the following charges:
- Speeding, DUI
- Simple Assault
- Public drunk
- Possession of drug paraphernalia without a driver’s license
- Possession of drug paraphernalia with warrant served
University police responded to the following incidents: seven vehicle stops, a speeding with a suspended license on University campus and a traffic detail on Fraternity Row.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a smell of smoke at 1:45 a.m. that was unfounded at 1627 West Jackson Avenue and a smoke detector activated at 3:57 p.m. due to a resident using Raid Fogger at 320 Hathorn Road.
