Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, July 28
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: three suspicious activities, two littering, two welfare concerns, two fire department assists, a noise violation, a lost property, an animal complaint, a careless driver, a trespassing, a forgery, an ambulance assist, a motorist assist, a petit larceny, a lost property, a code violation, a false pretense, an improper parking, and an auto burglary at 1800 East Jackson.
Oxford police investigated 11 wrecks, issued 18 traffic citations and made seven arrests on the following charges:
- failure to comply with public intoxication
- careless driving with a suspended driver’s license and DUI
- public intoxication with consumption of alcohol on city streets
- speeding with careless driving and DUI,/li>
- possession of drug paraphernalia with a suspended driver’s license and careless driving and DUI,/li>
- public intoxication
University police investigated two vehicle stops and a first offense credit card fraud with a petit larceny.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents: a smoke detector activated at 9:07 a.m. by sanding sheetrock at South End Zone, an oven fire at 9:10 a.m. put out upon arrival at Oxford Health and Rehab, a fire alarm malfunction at 9:33 a.m. at Oxford Health and Rehab, an utility smoke detector malfunction at 11:58 a.m. at 2232 Lee Loop, a smoke detector activated by cooking at 12:29 a.m. at 118 Price Street, and a duct detector malfunction at 3:21 a.m. at Khayat Law School.
