Ole Miss Student to Style Models For Atlanta International Fashion Week

Lovetta Oguhebe has a passion for makeup with a purpose. The upcoming Ole Miss senior recently started her own makeup and beauty brand, 2FaceBeautyMakeup, in hopes that it will help raise the self-esteem of women everywhere. “I want women to feel empowered and to realize their self worth,” Oguhebe said in a previous story. “Makeup should only be something that enhances what you already have. It should bring out your inner spunk. I want to be able to give women the confidence to be who they really are.”

A victim of domestic violence herself, Oguhebe understands the importance of self-empowerment and having the confidence to fully believe in yourself. “I got into this in the first place because other people believed in me; I didn’t believe in myself at the time,” she said of her brand. “A friend of mine sent me some brushes and eye shadow to start with. It grew from there.”

Now that the brand is starting to get some exposure, Oguhebe is getting opportunities to take it to the next level. “I got accepted to be one of the makeup artists for Atlanta International Fashion Week!” Oguhebe said. “This is a chance for me to shake hands with famous makeup artists, fashion designers, photographers, agents and celebrities from all around the world while doing what I do best. Never in a million years would I imagine that something like this could happen!”

Atlanta International Fashion Week is July 28-Aug. 2, and Oguhebe will work among Atlanta’s most elite fashion designers and up-and-coming models showcasing their work and talents on an international platform. The event gains global publicity and is mentioned alongside the fashion “Big 4” (London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week.)

“All my hard work is finally paying off,” Oguhebe said. “The problem is I do not have the funds to be able to achieve my dream.”

Oguhebe needs $500 for the trip, which includes the remainders of a bus ticket, room and board and Uber Rides to and from the event for eight days. “So far I have saved $100, but I won’t be able to come up with the rest in time without [the help of] generous viewers,” she said. “Something as meager as finances should not be what would stop me from taking my brand to the next level so I am needing help from anyone who sees this!”

To date, Oguhebe’s beauty brand has garnered a lot of local and national attention. She has styled the looks of Ole Miss students and has taken part in campus fashion shows. She has also styled models in big-named shows in Atlanta; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; New York and Miami.

“Any gift of any size will highly appreciated since it more than just money, but a token of support in a brand with such a rich future,” Oguhebe said.
