Oxford Crime Report: Thursday, July 9
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six alarms, six suspicious activities, two fire department assists, two petit larcenies, two identity thefts, a welfare concern, a discharging of fireworks, a public intoxication, a 911 hang up call, an animal complaint, a motorist assist, a disturbance and an improper parking.
Oxford police investigated six wrecks, issued 23 traffic citations and made one arrest on these charges: following too closely with a suspended driver’s license and a warrant served.
University police responded to the following incidents: one vehicle stop on Hathorn Road, a vehicle wreck at Residential College, a service call for an ambulance at Pavilion/Parking Garage, report of harassment at Women’s Softball Field, a trespassing at J.D. Williams Library, and an intoxicated person at the Turner Center.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a cancelled call at 10:41 a.m. to Gus’ Fried Chicken restaurant, a cancelled call at 4:09 p.m. at Rooster’s, and an air duct malfunction at 4:47 a.m. at Khayat Law School.
