Where are the Lady Rebels Now: Yolanda Moore
This summer the Ole Miss women’s basketball team will be taking a look at some of the noticeable names from seasons past and seeing what they’re up to now. Today we’ll check in on one of Ole Miss’ greats and current Southeastern Louisiana head coach, Yolanda Moore.

Yolanda Moore, a player for Ole Miss under the legendary Van Chancellor, has used the game of basketball to make an impact. A 2010 inductee into the Ole Miss Sports Hall of Fame and a member of the WNBA’s Houston Comets, Moore is the current head coach of the Southeastern Louisiana Lions.
A member of Ole Miss’ 1992-96 squads, Moore still ranks No. 10 on Ole Miss’ all-time with 1,485 career points and 667 rebounds. Moore had her best season in an Ole Miss uniform as a junior averaging 17.2 points per game. She led the Rebels to three NCAA Tournament appearances and served as a team captain her senior year while earning unanimous first-team All-SEC honors during her junior and senior campaigns.
After her career as a Rebel, Moore went on to play for the Houston Rockets in the WNBA and won two WNBA Championships. After her playing days Moore served as a women’s basketball analyst for Fox Sports South and also did radio for the Memphis Grizzlies.
Moore got the coaching bug and spent the 2013-14 season as the head coach at LSU Eunice. She led the Lady Bengals to a 26-3 overall record and the program’s first-ever Miss-Lou Conference championship.
LSU Eunice was ranked as high as No. 22 in the NJCAA Division I national rankings, and Moore was named NJCAA Region 23 Coach of the Year. The Lady Bengals finished the season ranked sixth nationally in scoring defense, holding opponents to just 39.9 points per game.
She took over the Lions program in 2014-15 and led them to a 7-22, 3-15 Southland record in her first year and had one player earn All-Southland Conference honors. In her first year at the helm, Moore and her squad made the trek to her ole stomping grounds pushing Ole Miss in a 79-71 overtime loss.
Moore is also a motivational speaker and author and published her first book “You Will Win If You Don’t Quit”, in September 2012.
