A Look at the Lady Rebel Netters 2015 Season
The Ole Miss lady Rebel netters ended the 2015 season with a top 25 ranking in the final poll of the season, with an All-American All-SEC honors and the seventh straight NCAA appearance highlight another excellent year for the Ole Miss women’s tennis team under head coach Mark Beyers.

Ole Miss (16-11) finished the year ranked No. 24 in the nation, marking the14th time in the history of the program for the Rebels to earn a top 25 ranking and the fourth time in the last seven years.
“Coach (Hugh) Freeze has that saying it’s the `new normal’, so for us when it happens four times in seven years, we want that to become the new normal,” Beyers said. “That’s the standard we expect and now we have to figure out how to get higher than that.”
Senior Julia Jones received All-American honors for the first time in her career and became the 11th All-American in the program’s history. Just the sixth player under head coach Mark Beyers. She also earned All-SEC First Team honors, marking the third time for Jones to be recognized by the league office, as she was named to the All-Freshman team in 2012 and the second team in 2014.
Jones will also leave the Rebel program with a total of 103 career single wins and just the seventh player to reach the 100-club plateau.
Among the success on the court the Rebels excelled in the classroom by posting above a 3.3 grade point average as a team for the seventh consecutive semester and eight players made the honor roll. The team is once again eligible for the ITA All-Academic Team Award.
This years team says goodbye to three seniors in Julia Jones, Erin Stephens and Iris Verboven.
