Oxford Public Library Plans Summer Fun for Teens and Adults

We’re nearly two weeks in summertime, y’all! The Lafayette County & Oxford Public Library will have plenty of fun for teens and adults to enjoy in these hot, carefree days.
Here is a quick rundown of the events provided by head librarian, Laura Beth Walker.
On Tuesday, June 16, Linda Spence will share her poetry at 6 p.m. Later that week on Thursday, Eileen Saunders will be the guest speaker on backyard wildlife habitats. Since this event falls on lunchtime, the library asks interested persons to preregister so they may be served lunch.
July 9, a Thursday noon, Greg Johnson from the University of Mississippi Blues Archive will share his knowledge on the native music of the Delta with all. The library will serve lunch to those who preregistered.
Then on July 13 the library will celebrate Harper Lee’s new novel, Go Set a Watchman at 5:30 p.m. Laura Beth Walker said, “We will show the film version of To Kill a Mockingbird.”
Jaime Kornegay will be the last summer guest speaker at the library on Thursday, July 23. That noon she will talk about her book Soil and lunch will be served to those who preregistered.
