Once again, Ole Miss beats Bama in football — or at least a football-related topic. This year, Athlon Sports ranked Ole Miss’ current football uniforms as best of all fourteen SEC teams.

Rob McVey, who is part of the Athlon Contributor Network and a diehard Tennesee Vols van, went through fourteen teams as he praised or ripped apart SEC uniforms. He liked Mizzou’s “mustard yellow and charcoal gray” uniforms least of all with Mississippi State right behind at No. 13. He was especially critical of the banner logo and gold trimmings the football players wear at the Egg Bowl.

For Ole Miss, this is what he had to say:

“When Nike decided to make some adjustments to the Ole Miss uniform in 2013, they managed to turn an already good look into one of the best in the nation and tops in the SEC. Aside from the removal of accent colors, the shoulder stripes and fonts of the traditional Rebel jersey remain the same. In this case, less is more, as taking off the accent colors somehow strengthens the appeal of the jersey. In addition, Nike added navy and white pants to the arsenal, which creates a whole new look that is a pleasing departure from the norm. The alternating navy and red home jerseys over grey pants looks great, but the addition of the new colorways for the pants adds a fresh dimension that looks extremely sharp on the field. They look even better when combined with the white road jersey. There is not a more versatile combination of colors than red, white and blue in terms of mixing and matching, and the Rebels utilize them to the fullest. Plus, what is more American than red, white and blue?”

Wow! That was an awesome compliment from a Vols fan.
