Shanita Hunter – Shoplifiting

On May 11, 2015, Shanita Hunter, 42 of Myrtle, was arrested for Felony Shoplifting [97-23-93(6)] after she was caught stealing from Wal-Mart. Hunter had two previous convicted shopliftings. On May 12, 2015, Shanita Hunter was charged with Felony Shoplifting [97-23-93(6)] and her bond was set at $2,500.

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five suspicious activities, three alarms, three animal complaints, two fire department assists, two counterfeit currencies, two disturbances, a welfare concern, a civil matter, a grand larceny, a petit larceny and a lost property.

Oxford police investigated two wrecks, issued 22 traffic citations and made two arrests on the following charges: a shoplifting and a simple assault.

University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, two trespasses at J.D. Williams Library, a disturbance at Campus Walk, a suspicious vehicle at Alpha Tau Omega house, and an auto-burglary in Kincannon parking lot.

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents: a smoke detector activated at 7:37 a.m. by cooking at 915 Buchanan Avenue, a smoke detector activated at 8:21 a.m. by sanding sheet rock at Crosby 321, and a general fire alarm malfunction at 2:45 p.m. at 722 8th Street.
