Ole Miss’ presence in the National Football League is being further bolstered this weekend. After Senquez Golson was drafted in the second round on Friday, three more Rebels are signing with NFL clubs.

Cody Prewitt is signing with the Tennessee Titans, Carlos Thompson with the Houston Texans and Bo Wallace with the Kansas City Chiefs.

A two-time All-American, a first-team selection in 2013 and a second-team selection in 2014, Prewitt was the leader of the Ole Miss defense from his free safety spot. The Bay Springs, Mississippi, native ranked among the team leaders with 60 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions and two pass breakups this past season. A two-time semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, he finished his career tied for eighth in school history with 11 career interceptions, second only to Golson among his SEC peers.

Thompson was a four-year letterman on the defensive line, amassing 37 career tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. The Hollandale, Mississippi, native boosted his pro chances with a 29-tackle senior season and a strong showing at the Ole Miss Pro Day in March.

Wallace was the Rebels’ starting quarterback in every game of his three-year career and was the first signal caller to lead Ole Miss to three straight bowl games since Romaro Miller from 1998-2000. Among his school records, the Pulaski, Tennessee, native set marks for career total offensive yards (10,478), total offensive plays (1,581), completion percentage (63.0) and 300-yard passing games (11).

Ole Miss has a rich tradition of producing NFL talent, including 281 draft picks and 19 first-round selections. Last year, there were 23 Rebels in the league. Seven of them made the playoffs, including Super Bowl champion Brandon Bolden of the New England Patriots.
