Oxford Crime Report: Tuesday, April 21
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five disturbances, three alarms, two malicious mischief, two e-911 hang up calls, two suspicious vehicles, a suspicious person, a simple assault, a civil matter, a careless driving, a petit larceny, an improper parking, and an auto-burglary at 100 Greystone Point.
Oxford police investigated eight wrecks, issued 37 tickets and made four arrests on the following charges: (2) shoplifting; a DUI to first degree; and a careless driving with leaving the scene of accident and a DUI to first degree.
University police responded to the following incidents: a vehicle stop at University Place, a service call for an ambulance at Bishop Hall, a moving violation per careless driving at Guyton Hall, a harassment at Martindale Building, a service call for an ambulance at Minor Hall, a traffic detail on Chucky Mullins Drive, and a suspicious vehicle at University Place.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents: a medical emergency per a student having a seizure that the fire department provided oxygen for until EMS arrived at Minor Hall; a medical emergency per a student passing out in class with no ambulance available yet the student was awake and well when the fire department arrived at Bishop Hall; a smoke detector activated by an e-cigarette at Stockard Hall; and six people stuck in an elevator between first and second floor who got out before the fire department arrived at Martin Hall.
