MBA Students Create a Shopping Website for EDUganda Charity
Ever wanted to donate more than just money for a good cause? This MBA student group created a website for EDUganda that makes such donations easy.
EDUganda is a philanthropic organization led by University of Mississippi students since 2007. This spring semester EDUganda president Jessica Bunch made a presentation to Dr. Clay Dibrell’s MBA 662 Entrepreneurship class
Three groups of students came to EDUganda from Dr. Clay Dibrell’s MBA 662 Entrepreneurship class. Bunch had pitched to the class with a video of how EDUganda helps the poorest in Uganda by sponsoring educational pursuits, supporting AIDS awareness programs and peer education groups.
Maura Wakefield is one of student group members helping EDUganda with a website: www.eduganda-mississippi.myshopify.com.
“We have reached our dollar goal but we can always use more to support our cause,” said Wakefield.
On the website there are six students needing sponsorship to complete education be it high school to vocational training to an university. In the store one can buy three days of school for the Uganda students for $30. A charitable person can buy engineering tools for the school for $100 or supplies for law school for $50. One can even buy a goat for the Ugandas for $200!
